Unidata’s technical department, charged with planning and deployment of the fiber optic network, will use the Hexagon software to analyse the network, design new sections and make changes to the network configuration as new customer connections are added. The new, fully integrated solution from Hexagon will feature the former Cambridge Systematics’ permitting application, PermitCS, and Hexagon’s route planning and restriction management applications. PermitCS will be renamed and rebranded as a Hexagon product. Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure and Cambridge Systematics have successfully partnered to serve the OS/OW market since 2009, and multiple states currently use the combined solution. The companies will collaborate to ensure a smooth transition for existing customers.

The OS/OW solution aids highways departments charged with the issuance of OS/OW permits. Using the application, trucking company customers electronically submit load information and payments. The system automatically determines the best and safest routes – factoring in restrictions – and manages approvals. In a short time, permits are generated to department specifications and trucking companies can continue their travels, improving customer satisfaction, ensuring highway safety and generating revenue for the state.

Replacing a decades-old infrastructure management system, Asco Tlc SpA will use Hexagon’s Intergraph G/Technology Fiber Optic Works to improve its network design capabilities, operations, geomarketing, reporting and customer service.
