Bentley Systems Issues Call for Submissions to 2016 Be Inspired Awards for Excellence in Infrastructure

Global Program Celebrates World’s Most Outstanding Advancements in
Infrastructure Design, Construction, and Operations

The deadline for entries is May 30, 2016. The awards, which are selected by independent juries of industry experts, recognize the extraordinary work of organizations that help advance the world’s infrastructure by designing, engineering, constructing, delivering, and/or operating safer, more resilient, sustainable, and intelligent roads, bridges, buildings, plants, water distribution networks, and a host of other infrastructure assets. The architects, engineers, constructors, and/or owner-operators that comprise these organizations help realize their goals by taking advantage of the many BIM advancements that Bentley software and services innovations provide them through:

• an increased depth of information modeling, for better asset performance, and/or
• an increased breadth of information mobility, for better project performance.

The 18 Be Inspired Awards categories in this comprehensive, global program cover every aspect of the built environment – from innovation in asset performance, building, and construction to innovation in government, land development, mining, offshore, project delivery, and more. A new category this year is innovation in reality modeling, showcasing projects that demonstrate excellence in reality capture and/or visualization that solved a specific design, construction, or operations challenge.

All Bentley users are invited to enter their projects in the Be Inspired Awards program, no matter what phase the project is in – preconstruction/conceptual, design, construction, or built. The three finalists chosen for each Be Inspired Awards category will win a trip to London to attend, as a guest of Bentley Systems, The Year in Infrastructure 2016 Conference, being held Nov. 1-3 at the Hilton London Metropole in the U.K. The finalists will present their projects in the Be Inspired Awards finals portion of the conference before the judges, industry thought leaders, and more than 100 members of the media gathered for this highly interactive event comprising presentations, summits, and workshops.

New Mexico Chooses Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure for State-wide Public Safety Dispatch System

The New Mexico Department of Public Safety has selected an integrated suite of public safety software from Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure for its state-wide incident management system. For use by the New Mexico State Police, the computer-aided dispatch (CAD), mobile and analytics solution will improve call handling and dispatching, enhance officer response and enable agency-wide reporting.

Replacing a decades-old system, the Hexagon solution will modernize the Department of Public Safety’s incident management capabilities by providing a robust platform to meet the high demands of its dispatching operations and field units. The solution will also help the agency achieve its long-term goal of expanding incident management capabilities to other agencies across the state. 

“We required a configurable dispatch and mobile solution that could enhance our current operating processes and also support our efforts to create a state-wide incident management system,” said Cesario Alvillar, project management bureau chief, New Mexico Department of Public Safety. “The Hexagon solution will help us meet our goals through a modern, scalable platform built for future growth.”

“The New Mexico State Police is pleased to partner with Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure as our provider for the state-wide Intergraph CAD system,” said New Mexico State Police Chief Pete Kassetas. “My number one priority as chief is keeping our communities and officers safe. The Intergraph CAD system will enable us to improve our ability to serve the public and allow us to function overall in a more effective manner,”

The Department of Public Safety’s solution features Hexagon’s industry-leading incident management software, Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch (I/CAD), which will be used by the multiple New Mexico State Police dispatch centers located throughout New Mexico. The suite includes Mobile for Public Safety, a powerful in-vehicle, field application for mobile dispatching, which will be used by all field personnel across the state. The agency’s new system also features EdgeFrontier, an integration platform that will enable it to quickly build new interfaces to other dispatch and IT systems without the associated costs of custom development.

Již podruhé jsme se rozhodli podělit o svoje zkušenosti týkající se zemědělské půdy a katastru nemovitostí s těmi, kteří se evidencí půdy dlouhodobě zaobírají. Ve spolupráci s Institutem vzdělávání v zemědělství se uskutečnil v pátek 22. dubna 2016 v Brně seminář, jehož lektory byli naši kolegové Oldřich Kahoun a Daniel Vráblík. Přítomné posluchače z farem v regionu Brno-venkov informovali o katastru nemovitostí, pozemkových úpravách, dani z nemovitých věcí a dalších zajímavostech týkajících se správy půdy.

I letos jsme sázeli stromy

Tak jako na podzim i nyní v sobotu 16.4.2016 jsme se připojili k iniciativě firmy Kentico “Trees for bugs”. Sebrali jsme se a vyrazili do Sebranic, kde jsme vysázeli švestku za každý bug v našich aplikacích, který nám za poslední půl rok naši uživatelé nahlásili.

Na fotografii jsme celá skupina. Dělá nám velkou radost, že počet sázejících vývojářů se od minule zdvojnásobil. Tentokráte sázeli 2.

Standa Madron zavzpomínal na geodetické zlaté časy. Bez jeho zkušeností bychom to určitě nezvládli.

Tady by se mohlo někomu zdát, že je tvrdá práce hraná. Rádi bychom to pro tyto pochybovače uvedli na pravou míru - nezdá!

Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure will provide map and traffic data from TomTom as part of Hexagon’s public safety solutions in the Asia-Pacific region. Through a licensing agreement with TomTom Global Content B.V., Hexagon will include TomTom’s full mapping and traffic content with Hexagon’s industry-leading incident management software, Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch (I/CAD), to help optimize emergency response performance in a dozen countries, including Australia, India and South Korea.

TomTom’s global road network database integrates turn-by-turn directions and road data, including signage, intersections and congestions, in real time. This results in more up-to-date and precise address points, street networks and routing. Hexagon’s I/CAD features complete, integrated capabilities for call handling and dispatching, intelligent mapping, field communications, data reporting and analysis and application integration -- providing a common operating picture for intelligent response. Combining I/CAD with TomTom’s data can help increase dispatching accuracy and reduce response times to incidents and emergencies in the countries served under the agreement.
